FAQ - Apply to Register / Membership
FRONTOFBICYCLE'S APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1: Application to register (Free) - frontofbicycle's registration form. This information will also be used in building the approved applicant's online gallery profile page (Step 4).
Step 2: Review of application - frontofbicycle will review the artist's application and if required, contact the artist to view their artwork in person.
Step 3 - Approval of application - Upon approval, frontofbicycle will email the artist their official membership form, including instructions for membership payment.
Step 4: Gallery profile page - Upon receipt of payment, the artist's gallery profile page will be built and checked before being published and promoted through frontofbicycle's sites.
Step 5: Membership login access - Once the artist's gallery profile page has been published, an email will be sent providing access to frontofbicycle's "Membership login" page, officially welcoming them to frontofbicycle.
Membership login page - Members' ONLY page; providing information about frontofbicycle's news, updates, instructions, links and where submissions for upcoming exhibitions will be posted.

WHAT ART THE BENEFITS TO BECOME A MEMBER?
- Opportunity to establish a network within a growing international artist community
- The promotion of your artwork through frontofbicycle's website and social sites
- To replace or upload new artwork during the year (max' of 6 works per artist member's gallery profile page, at any one time)
- Opportunity to submit to and participate in future frontofbicycles' exhibitions in Basel
WHAT IS FRONTOFBICYCLE'S SCREENING CRITERIA FOR NEW APPLICANTS?
- Artworks must be ready for sale
- Craftsmanship and execution of works: presenting technical and control of materials applied
- Aesthetics: Illustrating quality of form and treatment of works
- Impression: Presenting an emotional response to the viewer
- Consistency: Producing an ongoing portfolio of works
- Personal Identity: Expression of unique vision and original in concept
- Image representation: Uploaded images should be of a high-quality format, in focus, presenting the full parameters of your artwork
ABOUT FRONTOFBICYCLE's EXHIBITIONS
- On average frontofbicycle Gallery organises and hosts around two exhibitions per year - one in spring and one around the autumn time
- Only member's of frontofbicycle Gallery can apply to exhibit through frontofbicycle's exhibition proposal via our membership login page
- Exhibition fee to participate - this amount depends on the venue, number of participating artists, and the duration of the exhibition
- The duration of an exhibition can be either 3-4 days or 7-10 days
- frontofbicycle works hard to give all artist's an opportunity to exhibit, also taking into consideration the curation process of the exhibition
- Full exhibition terms and conditions are presented on frontofbicycle's exhibition proposal - sent to artists a few months before the exhibition date
UNSUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
frontofbicycle's application is a screening process, and by registering with frontofbicycle, artists will not automatically be qualified to become a member of frontofbicycle Gallery.
frontofbicycle will only contact artists if their application has been successful, and from thereon, unless otherwise stipulated, frontofbicycle will securely file the application in case a future opportunity becomes open for the registering artist. The artist will still own all rights to their works, and frontofbicycle will not forward any works or information to any third party, outside of the frontofbicycle team, without consent from the applicant.

ArTworks
Artworks on an artist's "Gallery Profile Page" are not exclusive to frontofbicycle Gallery. They can be changed and updated throughout the year - Six to be showcased at anyone time. Artists can upload new works via a link on our membership login page.
Once submitted, frontofbicycle Gallery will work with the artist, confirming if they meet our original screening criteria before being published.
- The artist must be the copyright owner of all artworks displayed on their "Gallery Profile Page"
- All images on their "Gallery Profile Page" is an accurate representation of their original artworks to which are not damaged and are ready for sale
- Artists must certify that the information they have provided is to the best of their knowledge and truthful
- Sold artworks - Artists must notify frontofbicycle Gallery if their artwork was sold so we can update the artist's page
Once submitted, frontofbicycle Gallery will work with the artist, confirming if they meet our original screening criteria before being published.
When are artworks exclusive to frontofbicycle Gallery?
- Online Shop: Artworks sold through frontofbicycle's online shop must be ready for sale and available for three months exclusive to frontofbicycle Gallery
- Exhibition Shop: Artworks sold through frontofbicycle's exhibition online shop must be ready for sale and available for the duration of the exhibition exclusive to frontofbicycle Gallery
Online purchases are only available to buyers living in Switzerland.
