Kim Vergil: Canada
Kim Vergil is a Canadian Artist, living and working in Basel, Switzerland. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the “University of Quebec”- Montreal, Canada, and is a Member and Chair of the Arts committee for the “International Association for the Study of Dreams”. A member of “Visarte and “Schweizerische Gesellschaft Bilderder Kunstlerinnen”, Basel, Switzerland. And a Canadian member of - “Regroupement des Artist en Art Visuelle”.
Kim's creative process is inspired by her understanding on how we create our dreams at night; (a combination of symbolic imagery and emotional energy). A reflection of this process is found in her mixed media collages. Using photography from her everyday life and travels, combined with paint and painting to express emotional energy, Kim transforms her finished expressions into "Abstracted Dream Scenes". A process of “Searching and Finding meaning within Chaos”. Creating invitations into the “Portals of the Imagination” as well as dynamic “Shape Shifters” over time.
“My work creates an opportunity to dig deep and discover personal meaning within the Chaos of our daily lives. As a reflection of Society, art should also guide and feed us as emotional and intellectual beings. What seems at first glance to be Chaos can still come into focus as our personal story is discovered and emerges—creating personal definition”. - Kim Vergil.
