Vsevolod Mironov: Russia
Vsevolod was born in Russia and graduated at Saint-Petersburg State University (mathematical and mechanical faculty) - Department of computer science. After graduating from business school, he worked in the pharmaceuticals industry. He currently lives in Basel with his wife.
His work is based on identifying the problem of 'resurrection' old yet meaningful photos, made on simple devices. In preparing these images, he came upon very unexpected results. By using his mathematical and computer background, and in combining different methods, Vsevolod started to create disjointed images (while keeping the very basic things inside them the same). It turned out that the potential of such images was substantially higher than just 'beloved memories'. His works reflect multi-dimensions and uncertainty. You will hardly see the original shot. What started like "Things from a Past", quite misty but still recognizable now appears like a projection from the Matrix, a piece from a two-dimensional world pretending to be a cast from multidimensional entities.
