Bettina Egli Sennhauser: Switzerland
Bettina is a mainly self-taught visual artist born and living in Switzerland. On a quest for a contemporary interpretation of the antique painting techniques of Encaustic and Fresco, her practice is a continual inquiry of an abstract vocabulary through exploring natural materials like beeswax, natural resins, marble dust, lime putty, sands, and pigments.
She has been a member of frontofbicycle since 2017 and has exhibited at several of their Group Exhibitions in Basel, Switzerland. Her works were also shown at the ARTE Binningen, the Trevisan International Art Gallery in Bologna, Italy. She was invited to participate at the Juried Shows of the International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown in 2018 and the Atlantic Gallery in New York in 2020.
Bettina is a member of the Swiss Association of Female Visual Artists, the International Encaustic Association, and a founding member of the European Encaustic Artists Community. She is one of two accredited Encaustic Teachers by R&F Handmade Paints in Switzerland.
From 2017 to 2019, she supported frontofbicycle Gallery in her role as Exhibition Coordinator. Her works are appreciated by collectors in Switzerland, the US, and Singapore.
