Patricia Amweg: Switzerland
Patricia Amweg-Ulmann was born in Basel (Switzerland) in 1964 and is a graduate of the Visual Art School in Münchenstein.
The focus of the artist's work is primarily on the subjects of nature, and she tries to change our familiar ways of looking at a natural element, to draw attention to unknown phenomena or invisible processes in nature or simply change our way of looking at things.
Mycorrhiza Explosions (Mycorrhiza black and white) - The artist has recently dealt intensively with the topic of mycorrhizal fungi. The mycorrhizal fungal threads, which perform a very important ecological task in the hidden soil and are mostly invisible to us, are made visible.
In this day and age, when a lot is being destroyed on our planet, painting is one of the ways to make people aware of the perfection, fragility and importance of intact nature.
"As an artist, I have a responsibility because art always has something to say." - Patricia Amweg.
