Pamela Gotangco: Philippines
Artist - Zurich

A Bachelor of Arts Communication, a graduate of Miriam College, Philippines, Pamela is an advocate of alternative communication through relevant artistic media.

Born in the Philippines and having traveled the world extensively both for work and pleasure, she considers her life experience to be colorful, thus providing substantial inspiration to her work.

Now based in Zurich, having started painting professionally in 2010, Pamela's work has been received well in Switzerland and abroad. Her work has been curated several times by renowned curators from acclaimed museums and galleries.

Adding to her accolades are numerous digital display of her works in iconic locations such as "Times Square" New York in 2012, art fairs such as "Art Basel Miami" in 2013, in famous galleries such as "Saatchi Gallery" London in 2013 and several solo and group shows in Switzerland.

As an avid fan of Takashi Murakami, Pamela adapts the postmodern art movement "Superflat". Her Geisha images are timeless, mysterious and playful.  Working in layers, she incorporates motifs drawn from both her own life experience and from the people around her.  Her main focus is to engage the viewer to sense a connection in her subject matter and provoke discussion.

Currently Pamela is a very active in the art scene, women empowerment and recently producing short films. She works closely with the Philippine Embassy in Switzerland in promoting Filipino culture and the Philippines:

In 2018 Pamela was an awardee for the 100 Most Influential Filipinas worldwide awarded by "Filipina Womens Network". FWN is an organization based in San Francisco California, USA and is a non-profit, non-partisan international advocacy organization that seeks to increase the power and influence of Filipina women as leaders and policy makers at all levels in corporate, government, institutions and community organizations to achieve economic and social justice and women’s rights.

In 2019, she was awarded the Outstanding Filipino Migrant in Europe by Federation of Filipinos in Italy and Europe FEDERPHIL. The same year, Nueva Ecija Department of Tourism in cooperation with Nueva Ecija Commission for Culture and Arts awarded her a plaque of appreciation as «Natatanging Parangal». Her hometown, Rizal, Nueva Ecija, has created Resolution 2019 commending her as "International Artiste par Excellence". Additionally, World CSR and World Sustainability Founder Dr. R. L. Bhatia awarded her Women Leadership award during the Philippine Womens Summit 2019 in Dusit Hotel.

Pamela also supports non government organization projects that help the underprivileged  in the Philippines through art auctions. Her recent auctions benefited "International Christian Ministries" an organization based in Hong Kong. For 25 years, ICM has been providing help, inspiring hope and creating change for families living in extreme poverty in the Philippines.

Collectors from several continents have already acquired her works in a short time span.
