About
Bettina is a self-taught visual artist born and living in Switzerland. On a quest for a contemporary interpretation of the antique painting techniques of Encaustic and Fresco, her practice is a continual inquiry of an abstract vocabulary through exploring natural materials like beeswax, natural resins, marble dust, lime putty, sands, and pigments.
She is a member of frontofbicycle since 2017 and has exhibited at several of their Group Exhibitions in Basel, Switzerland. Her works were also shown at the ARTE Binningen and the Trevisan International Art Gallery in Bologna, Italy. She was invited to participate at the Juried Show of the International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown in the USA.
Bettina is a founding member of the European Encaustic Artists Group, a member of the International Encaustic Association, and one of two listed R&F Encaustic Teachers in Switzerland.
From 2017 to 2019 she supported frontofbicycle Gallery in her role as Exhibition Coordinator. Her works are appreciated by collectors in Switzerland, the US, and Singapore.
